The One Health concept emphasizes the connections between animal, environmental, and human health. The recognition and study of these connections provide opportunities for improving health across disciplines. The One Health concept will be used as a framework for a discussion on trauma surgery, as it relates to ACVS surgeons. Lectures in this seminar will focus on trauma surgery topics in both human and veterinary medicine, with an emphasis on current and potential avenues that ACVS Diplomates and veterinary surgery can contribute toward the advancement of One Health. Outcomes of these lectures will be directed toward One Health-focused insights that may have the potential to change and improve the practice of veterinary surgery.
