This session will discuss the use of near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF) imaging of the hepatobiliary system for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. More specifically, how it can be used to improve the visualization of the hepatic, cystic and common bile ducts during laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and how NIRF imaging can be leveraged for identification of primary and metastatic hepatic lesions in dogs improving determination of appropriate margins for resection. Results of three studies pertaining to these topics will be presented.
