Seminar: Unique and Uncommon Carpal Fractures and Pathology: Decision-Making and Treatment Strategies
Supple Not Simple: Clinical-Pathologic Correlations of Soft Tissue Lesions of the Equine Carpus and Carpus-Adjacent Unique and Uncommon Carpal Fractures and Pathology: Decision-Making and Treatment Strategies
Professor of Pathology University of Pennsylvania, Department of Pathobiology, New Bolton Center
The carpus has complex anatomic and functional osseous and non-osseous components that are susceptible to congenital, degenerative, or inflammatory lesions. Use of advanced diagnostic imaging in conjunction with pathologic analyses provide insight into the etiopathogenesis and complicating factors that may affect clinical outcomes. This seminar presents case-based examples with focus on carpal and carpal-adjacent non-osseous structures and lesions involving the carpal flexor sheath, and tendinoligamentous structures that explore etiologic underpinnings and pathoantatomic features that can impact radiologic interpretation, or prognostication.
