Dr. Fortier will share her experiences on navigating a journey through thirty plus years as a translational clinician scientist while raising more than 20 million dollars in grant funding, authoring over 200 manuscripts, and leading an international society. She will share how opportunities for career enhancement and/or change for her have been created by the key elements of being present, building relationships, harnessing the importance of a can-do and how can we do business attitude, embracing rejection as an opportunity to learn, and appreciating the entire team. She will show how, in her current role as Editor-in-Chief for JAVMA and AJVR and Division Director of Publications at the AVMA, she utilities the skills that she has built including management and strategic development, as well as an ability to continually renavigate and change, to continue to innovate and lead successfully.
