Anna Lia Sullivan is a current third year veterinary student at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her career interests include small animal orthopedic surgery, academia, and orthopedic research. Anna Lia works in Dr. Tinga’s clinical orthopedic research laboratory, where she helps launch research projects investigating the biomechanical strength of novel surgical techniques used to limit postoperative complications and improve surgical outcomes. Outside of research, she was the president of the Cornell Sports Medicine Club, where she organized and ran educational lectures and laboratories related to canine and equine sports medicine for students to gain opportunities outside of the classroom. She also was the vice president of Cornell’s Surgery Club and the treasurer for Cornell’s Radiology Club, and helped organize rounds for students to attend. Anna Lia has been a teaching assistant for Cornell’s Neuroanatomy course and is currently a Block I/anatomy teaching assistant. Anna Lia is also an Emergency Student Assistant at Cornell’s Companion Animal Hospital, where her role is to triage emergencies and assistant technicians and doctors with emergent cases and procedures.
