Dr. Amber Hopkins recieved her Board Certification in Anesthesia and Analgesia from University of Pennsylvania. She was the first staff Anesthesiologist and Pain Specialist for Veterinary Specialty Hospital in San Diego, where she built a successful service and practiced for 7 years. Missing Colorado, she moved back to Denver where she accepted a Medical Director position for VCA Alameda East for the next 4 years. In the last year and a half she has transitioned from a Regional Medical Director, serving 4 states and over 40 hospitals, and providing Anesthesia CE and Bootcamps for all regions of Southern Veterinary Partners , to her most recente advancement to Vice President of Medical Operations and National Director of Anesthesia for Thrive Pet Healthcare. Dr. Hopkins also founded her own Anesthesia and Pain Management consultation company, Summit Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia, LLC., traveling to hospitals to provide direct anesthesia monitoring, team training and pain management consultations over the last four years. She is certified in Acupuncture, Rehabilitation, Pain Management and Extracorporeal Therapies. Her passions are promotion of exceptional patient care, patient safety, critical care anesthesia and pain managment, as well as, positive leadership and empowerment of the doctors and teammates she serves. Dr. Hopkin also serves on the Board of Directors for both the ACVAA College and the Buisness Management Group for the Anaesthesia & Analgesia Journal. In her spare time, Dr. Hopkins enjoys anything outdoors, yoga, festivals, cooking and traveling.
