OA pain is a chronic viscous cycle of pain, joint deterioration, and loss of function that affects dogs of all ages, breeds, and sizes, so it is important to diagnose and treat early in the disease to provide best treatment outcomes. In this lecture, we will review new insights and findings, including the role that NGF plays in Canine OA pain. We will introduce the anti-NGF monoclonal antibody for canine OA pain, and what role we surgeons have in the best use of this new pharmaceutical through case studies.
