Sacro-iliac luxation repair using MIO techniques has gained acceptance since its description by Dr. James Tomlinson. The original technique relies on fluoroscopy and precise drilling with hand-held guides. Concerns about accuracy and safety have been raised as the operator's hands were placed close proximity to radiation fields. Following our experience with a patented device from Dr. Dejardin, we decided to create in-house designs for the purpose of drilling pilot sacroiliac holes accurately with a reduced need for manual input. This presentation will go over design iterations of homemade guides including its most current version.
